According to a producer of the MTV Europe Music Awards 2013, Miley Cyrus won’t be giving the same performance on Nov. 10 as she did at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards.
Co-executive producer Bruce Gillmer tells The Hollywood Reporter that Cyrus wasn’t booked just because she drew massive headlines for her twerking, teddy bear-filled VMAs performance with Robin Thicke.
“Miley was actually one of the first artists we had booked — and before she was doing any other show,” he says. “There has been a lot of buzz around her new record, and she has been on the show before and is perfect for our demo. But we were pleased after all the attention and increased profile after the VMA performance. We thank our MTV U.S. family for elevating her profile even higher.”
According to Gillmer, Cyrus won’t be adding any twerks to whatever she is performing on Sunday. “Miley is always looking to break creative boundaries. You can count on her not doing the same thing twice. She will figure out another way to blow people’s mind,” he says.
Do except the awards show to be as crazy as the VMAs were, though. “I look forward to rocking on live TV,” Gillmer says. “But importantly, it’s a party, so I’m looking forward to being sweeped into the craziness of it all.”
