Previously: At “Survivor Series,” not a whole lot happened. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan beat the Wyatt Family, John Cena and Randy Orton retained their championships, and at the end the two champs faced of in the ring to close the show. Given that it’s WWE’s second-longest running pay per view event, “Survivor Series” just wasn’t that exciting.
The big news: “WWE RAW” kicked off with Randy Orton heading to the ring. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon follow. They want him to know they always had confidence in him, but he doesn’t want to hear it. He doesn’t need anyone, he’s awesome, he’s good at kicking heads, etc.
John Cena arrives shortly after to officially challenge Orton to a Championship unification match at “TLC.” The Authority agrees and sets up the Tables, Ladders and Chairs match, which Orton isn’t pleased about.
What’s funny is the last time WWE had a World Title unification match was at their December pay per view in 2001, which saw Chris Jericho beat Steve Austin to become the first ever Undisputed WWE Champion.

It’s time to get rid of the World Heavyweight Championship anyway. It hasn’t had any real signifigance since the brand split ended and is just taking up space.
In the main event, John Cena teamed with Big Show to take on Randy Orton and Alberto Del Rio. While Cena and Show got the win, Orton stood victorious at the end of the night, after Del Rio took Cena out. He stood over his fallen opponent with both titles raised above his head.
CM Punk and Daniel Bryan continues their feud with the Wyatt Family in a handicap match. The best came before the match, when Punk and Bryan cut a promo. Punk harkened back to his original pipebomb segment, by ragging on Triple H for booking so many handicap matches lately.
The match ended in a no-contest when the rest lost total control. In the end, Bryan was kidnapped by the Wyatts, while Punk was attacked by The Shield, who need some sort of purpose.
Elsewhere, Mick Foley made an appearance as the weekly WWE Shop pitchman, dusting off his Dude Love and Mankind characters. While this was a fun moment for he fans, it was also bizarre to see WWE use a legitimate legend and Hall of Famer for a simple merchandise commercial. Considering the effort he put into it, he could have been used way better somewhere else.
