The fall finales of “Scandal” and “Grey’s Anatomy” delivered ratings gains for ABC Thursday, with both shows growing in both viewers and adults 18-49 and helping ABC score a solid second place for the night.

First place went to CBS, which per usual was led by “The Big Bang Theory.” The Eye’s numbers will likely come down some as its Denver and San Diego affiliates aired an NFL game, but its lead should hold. Elsewhere Thursday, “The Vampire Diaries” and “Reign” rose a bit in viewers over last week. “The Sing-Off” dropped some from Wednesday’s episode but stayed in front of “The X Factor” in adults 18-49.

CBS averaged 11.3 million viewers and a 7.0 rating/11 share in households for the night, pending updates for the local NFL broadcasts. ABC (7.1 million, 4.7/8) came in second. NBC (3.9 million, 2.5/4) edged FOX (3.7 million, 2.3/4) for third place, and The CW trailed with 2.1 million viewers and a 1.4/2.

CBS’ 18-49 rating for the night currently stands at 2.7, half a point better than ABC’s 2.2. NBC came in third with a 1.2, followed by FOX, 1.0, and The CW, 0.8.
