Big news about “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD’s” upcoming back nine episodes of Season 1 came out of TCA 2014 press tour Friday (Jan. 17).
ABC Entertainment Group president Paul Lee reveals the exciting cameo during ABC’s TCA winter press tour. “We’re shooting it now. Jaimie Alexander is there,” Lee tells reporters. “That’s going to be absolutely integral to that hour of television.” Alexander was last seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in “Thor: The Dark World.”
Though Lee admits that “Agents of SHIELD’s” initial fall in ratings after its premiere was disappointing, he says that the ABC team is feeling “very, very good” about its stability creatively and ratings-wise this season.
“It took us a little bit of time to find our sea legs,” he says. “Creatively, we’re loving what we’re seeing for that night.” Lee adds that he thinks “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” — and “The Goldbergs” — could be around “for a very, very long time.”
So what else is in store for the final episodes of “Agents of SHIELD”? “You’re going to find out who the Clairvoyant is, and it’s going to be very, very cool,” Lee says. Well, at least that’s a mystery that won’t be drawn on for too long.
“Agents of SHIELD” returns to ABC Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
