On Tuesday night’s (Jan. 7) episode of “The Biggest Loser,” Season 8 fan favorite Abby Rike returns to the Biggest Loser Ranch and Zap2it has your first look at her visit. As the Season 15 contestants mull over their “Second Chances” theme, Abby shares an update about where she stands on her own second chance journey.
Fans of the show will no doubt recall Abby lost her husband and two young children in a tragic car accident just two-and-a-half years before competing on “The Biggest Loser.” “When I stepped on this ranch, my sole focus was that I wanted to live again,” Abby tells the remaining Season 15 crew.
Contestant Jennifer tells Abby, who is approaching the seven-year anniversary of her family’s deaths, that she beats herself up over not being able to do what Abby could. So Abby takes that opportunity to share some heartfelt words of wisdom with her successors.
“You can never compare journeys,” Abby says. “It’s not about comparing or ranking; it’s about dealing with the hurt that you have. And that hurt will follow you home if you don’t deal with it. And it’s hard, and it’s brutal, and it’s necessary … and the other side’s a lot better.”
There’s a whole lot more going on in Tuesday’s episode. One player gets a chance to return to the competition as the group reunites to weigh-in.
Later, the contestants face a challenging but scenic kettle bell beach workout, and NASCAR driver Carl Edwards invites the “Biggest Loser” hopefuls to the race track for a non-traditional workout and some words of encouragement.
At the elimination weigh-in, one contestant reaches “One-derland” — any guesses as to who makes the milestone? — while another is sent packing. Afterward, host Alison Sweeney gives the remaining players some super exciting news.
