It’s a good night to be Amy Poehler. Not only did the 71st Annual Golden Globes host kill it alongside Tina Fey for the second year in a row, she also won the Best Actress — TV Musical or Comedy award for “Parks and Recreation” and got a shoulder rub — and a makeout session — with Bono for good measure.
Poehler enlisted Bono to give her a backrub as the nominees were announced, probably not thinking that she’d actually win. But when her name was called, she took the opportunity to have a quick makeout sesh with the U2 frontman — who could blame her? — before making her way to the stage.
Since “Parks and Recreation,” like many great, under-appreciated comedies, is always the bridesmaid, Poheler was in genuine shock that she was accepting the award, exclaiming, I’ve never won anything like this! … This is so cliche but you get really nervous.”
Her “Parks and Rec” castmates were just as thrilled at Poehler’s win. Did you see Rashida Jones’ fist pump? But another friend wasn’t quite as excited. When Fey and Poehler took the stage again following Poehler’s win, Fey congratulated her friend — or should we say frenemy? — saying, “I love you, and there’s a special place in hell for you.”
