ABC always intended “The Assets” to be a short-run show — just not this short.
The network has pulled the show, which was intended to spell “Scandal” for a couple months on Thursday nights, from its schedule after two low-rated episodes. Thursday’s (Jan. 9) installment, in fact, drew the smallest adults 18-49 rating (0.6) of any first-run drama on the Big Four networks this season.
Its total audience was pretty meager as well — 2.9 million, smaller than any other first-run show on the broadcast nets Thursday.
ABC is sticking with its plan to rest “Scandal” until after the Winter Olympics. Repeats of “Shark Tank” will fill the 10 p.m. ET Thursday spot for at least the next few weeks.
