“They’re actually changing themselves to the Cumbercollectives,” Cumberbatch says in an interview published by the Huffington Post. “They’ve gone down the rout of reversing the negative backlash of however many years of feminism and it was a little bit worrying … I didn’t ask for this sort of subservient, demeaning collective, and they go, ‘Oh no, it’s only a joke.'”
Whatever they call themselves, diehard fans of Cumberbatch and “Sherlock” — not to mention his high-profile roles in films like “Star Trek into Darkness” and “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” — seem to throw the previously under-the-radar actor. Hopefully the better name will at least put him at ease a little.
