Toronto Mayor Rob Ford flew to Los Angeles for the first weekend in March with the plan of a guest appearance at “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Monday (March 3). The mayor, however, showed up one day early.
In a joke segment during Jimmy Kimmel’s post-Oscars special, Ford walked out — seemingly unexpectedly — just after Kimmel mentioned the upcoming guest. “I’ve never been more excited about a guest than I am for this one,” Kimmel remarked.
His excitement must have therefore been extreme when Ford walked out in a tuxedo. When told that his segment wasn’t until the next night, Ford replied, “Oh, sorry Jimmy!” Then he left.
It looks like the notorious Toronto politician is being a very good sport about Kimmel’s penchant for jokes — the late-night host had previously picked up Ford and his entourage from the Los Angeles airport. What will happen during the actual Ford segment?
Audiences will find out when “Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs Monday (March 3) at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
