Universal Orlando has officially started the broadcast ad campaign for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter expansion, Diagon Alley. Zap2it can exclusively reveal the two new commercials the theme park is rolling out to start promoting the new “Harry Potter”-themed area.
Both offer up new sneak peeks at what the new park area, which is located in Universal Studios Florida. They reveal shots of the Gringotts Bank building and “Escape from Gringotts” ride, the dark Knockturn Alley, the Hogwarts Express and — of course — the general Diagon Alley area.
In addition to these two commercials, which will start airing today (March 17), a third ad will premiere in the spring on the Universal Orlando YouTube channel. Read here for a full rundown on what new stores, restaurants and rides will be opening in Diagon Alley.
Meanwhile, Universal Orlando also released a new video detailing how the Hogwarts Express ride will feel very similar to the experience of riding the train in the film series. That includes park attendees having to “pass through” a brick wall like Harry Potter had to at Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross Station. The journey will be approximately seven minutes long.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley opens at Universal Orlando in Summer 2014. What do you think of these new ads?
