March is finally here, so you know what that means? It’s time for Zap2it‘s Celebrity Social Media Showdown!
We love following our favorite TV stars on social media as much as the next person, but there’s no denying that some celebrities take their dedication to communicating with their fans to the next level. Whether it’s Misha Collins’ epic tweets, Patrick Stewart’s hilarious Facebook posts, Chloe Bennet’s on-point Instagram photos, or Orlando Jones’ amazing Tumbling skills, these people make keeping up with them on the Internet a pure joy.
In honor of their dedication to the fans, we decided to honor them in return. For this month, we’re holding a March Madness-style showdown to determine who is the king or queen of social media — and your votes are going to decide the winner.
The 64 candidates have been split into four groups: The best of Facebook, Instagram, Tumblr and Twitter. Round 1 of the competition begins on March 3 when the 16 Facebook contenders will face off against one another. Voting for the Instagram nominees will begin on March 4, the Tumblr candidates on March 5, and Twitter on March 6. Each social media site’s voting round will last for four days.
Once only eight competitors are left standing in each bracket, Round 2 will begin. Voting for Facebook’s second batch begins on March 10, Instagram’s on March 11, Tumblr’s on March 12 and Twitter’s on March 13. Voting will again last for four days.
The Semi-Finals will begin on March 25 with the finalists from Facebook and Tumblr facing off against one another, and Twitter and Instagram facing off against one another.
Voting will last in the Semi-Finals until March 28, when the final two contenders will compete in the Championship round to determine who is the TV star king or queen of social media. The winner will be crowned on March 31.
Your favorite TV stars need your votes! Make sure to follow Zap2it on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and Instagram to keep up with the different rounds as we head into this Celebrity Social Media Showdown. Who do you think will win?
