Both shows have performed solidly in the ratings in their first couple of weeks on the air this spring. “Silicon Valley” debuted to 2 million viewers — the best premiere for an HBO comedy in almost five years — and followed up with 1.7 million viewers for its second episode. Season 3 of “Veep” has dipped slightly compared to last year but is bringing in about 1 million viewers. (All figures are overnight ratings and don’t include repeat airings, DVR or streaming views.)
Both shows will likely be back on HBO in Spring 2015; there’s no word on the length of the order for either show. “Silicon Valley” is in the midst of an eight-episode first season, while “Veep” will run for 10 episodes. They air at 10 and 10:30 p.m. ET/PT Sundays on HBO.
