There is a report out of the U.K. that diva Mariah Carey was got delayed by an album launch party and was late to the 2014 World Music Awards, which took place Tuesday (May 27) in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
The Mirror reports that a party for her new album, “Me. I Am Mariah … The Elusive Chanteuse,” was pushed back by four hours, which caused the singer to be late to the award show, but a spokesman for the World Music Awards tells the paper, “We don’t know why Mariah is late, she’s just being Mariah.”
Carey did show up, however, and took the stage to perform (pictured above). She also took home a couple awards.
But it sounds like Mariah’s tardiness wasn’t the only issue at the show. Pamela Anderson tells the Mirror that Sharon Stone backed out of the awards at the last minute and Anderson was asked to step in. She was given the script to look at when she arrived for the red carpet.
The 2014 World Music Awards air Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
