Tatiana Maslany is a woman of many faces, but can one of them double for Helen Mirren? It just might have to, as the “Orphan Black” star is in talks to play the younger version of Mirren’s character in the new film “The Woman in Gold.”
Maslany is known best for her breakout role(s) in “Orphan Black,” but she is no stranger to the big screen. She’s had small roles in films like “The Vow,” “Violet & Daisy” and “Eastern Promises.”
In “The Woman in Gold,” Maslany will be playing the younger version of Mirren’s main character during World War II flashback scenes, if she takes the part. The Hollywood Reporter says Maslany is currently in discussions for the role.
The film follows Mirren’s character as she tries to regain lost family heirlooms from Austrian authorities 60 years after the Nazis stole them from her home. Ryan Reynolds will play the lawyer who takes on the case.
