eric bolling apology fox news the five Eric Bolling apologizes for sexist 'boobs on the ground' comment

FOX News’ “The Five” host Eric Bolling found him in the center of controversy after reacting to a news story about the United Arab Emirates’ first female pilot by saying “So is this considered boobs on the ground or no?”
Attention to Bolling’s comments were heightened after “The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart pointed out how hypocritical it was for Bolling to make the statement after lecturing President Obama on disrespect for the people that lay their lives on the line to protect innocent citizens.
Bolling took to the air today, Sept. 26, to apologize for the comment to viewers and female members of the armed forces around the world.
“Earlier this week I made a comment that was wholly inappropriate and I apologize for it. The comment came during KG’s one more thing honoring UAE bomber pilot, Major Miriam al Mansouri who bombed ISIS.   My remark was not intended to be disparaging of her, but that’s how it was taken. I should have known better and used better judgment.

Yesterday I made an apology on this show, but it was inadequate. Fox News has received letters from viewers, including from women in the military, and I’ve taken them to heart.

Therefore let me speak clearly and sincerely – I am sorry for what I said. I believe that Major al Mansouri is a hero. She is courageous, brave, and she deserves our praise, not inappropriate jokes.

I appreciate that she is fighting the extreme radicals that threaten all of us. She has my admiration and my gratitude.”
