On Sept. 19, “Modern Family” star Sarah Hyland obtained a Domestic Violence Temporary Restraining Order against ex-boyfriend Matthew Prokop, according to Hyland’s attorney, Lee A. Sherman of CTSC Law.
In documents obtained by TMZ, Hyland reportedly details counts of physical and emotional abuse caused by Prokop.
“The documents filed speak for themselves,” Sherman confirms to Zap2it in a statement. “Out of respect for the court, the process and all parties, I have advised Ms. Hyland not to comment on the matter.”
According to the documents, Prokop once pinned Hyland up against a car during an argument causing her to “fear for [her] life.” He also allegedly harassed her with messages once the couple had broken up.
“[He] relentlessly bombarded me with vile, threatening and emotionally disturbing texts and voice mails including his own suicide threats,” claims Hyland.
At one point, Hyland reportedly called in co-star Julie Bowen to help her “peacefully end the relationship,” which ended with Prokop screaming and throwing a lighter at Hyland.
Zap2it previously reported on Hyland and Prokop’s split on Aug. 26 of this year.
