“Conan” is broadcasting live from San Diego Comic-Con 2015 for the entire four days of the fanfest. Friday (July 10) Conan O’Brien’s trusty sidekick Andy Richter did a hilarious weather report sketch.
He starts out normal enough. “We’ve got clear skies and temps in the high 70s throughout San Diego, and it’s cooling down to the low 70s out by the bay.”
But then the SDCC flavor comes out.
“Now let’s check out the forecast for Middle Earth,” says Richter. “We’ve got a nice, cool 53 in the shower — er, in the Shire. And over here in Mordor, highs all the way up to eleventy-one. And be on the lookout for that giant flaming eyeball that has been lighting up the night sky recently. I don’t know what it is, but it sure is pretty.”
He gives weather for Dune — “Oh, that drought shows no chance of lettin’ up” — and Westeros — “Bundle up, everybody, ’cause winter is coming, as well as hoards of the undead sweeping down from the north. Now let’s take a look at the 5000-year forecast for Westeros: snow, snow, snow, snow, you get the idea.”
But easily the best one is the Narnia forecast, where “we are looking at some pretty heavy-handed Christian metaphors throughout the entire region.”
