Kanan and Ghost fight in the Power Season 2 finale

The tension has been brewing all season between James “Ghost” St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) and Kanan (50 Cent) ever since Kanan’s release from jail. In the “Power” Season 2 finale Saturday (Aug. 15) everything comes to a head between the two men, leaving total destruction in their wake.

Bodies are piling up left and right. First there’s Shawn (Sinqua Walls), followed by the rest of Ghost and Tommy’s (Joseph Sikora) organization except for Ruiz (Luis Antonio Ramos) and his family. Luckily Ghost manages to get to Ruiz in just the nick of time. There is even an unsuccessful attempt on Lobos’ (Enrique Murciano) life. So when Ghost manages to trap Kanan and the two start fighting, it is likely one of the men will not make it out alive.

Ghost is quick on his feet and shanks Kanan with a piece of glass broken in their brawl and then sets the building on fire. However, like all epic villains, one shouldn’t assume that this is the end of the thug. Sure enough in the last three minutes of the finale, investigators find that someone broke out of the dwelling while it was on fire. This ensures Kanan will be back and gunning for Ghost’s head in Season 3.

Just like old times, Kanan won’t be the only one after Ghost, as Ghost somehow manages to make a few new enemies by season’s end. One of those people is Greg (Andy Bean), who Angela (Lela Loren) throws under the bus to save her beloved boyfriend. Her stalking tale isn’t too far off though as Greg has never seemed creepier than when he corners Angela in her building’s garage. Ghost also has an unlikely enemy now in Tommy, who has been asked by a hospitalized Lobos to kill his best friend and in turn become the sole distributor in their operation. At one point in time Tommy would probably turn the idea down immediately, but after he finds out Ghost sent Holly (Lucy Walters) out of town and lied about it, all bets are off.

Then there is also a possibility of another mystery killer lurking in the shadows. After leaving Kanan for dead, Ghost finds a bloody La Arana card at his office — the same ones he was leaving with the members of Lobos’ detail he killed. Was it a warning from Kanan or could there be yet another person Ghost has to watch his back for? He tells Angela Ghost is dead and he will only be James from now on, but can that dream really ever come 100 percent true? All signs point to not a chance in Season 3.

“Power” airs Saturdays on Starz.
