It’s a safe assessment that movie promotion has changed a lot over the past decade. With the constantly changing social media landscape — and don’t forget about all those streaming services — production companies have found themselves tapping the creativity bone when it comes to hocking their goods. This notion makes watching the above video an interesting endeavor.
In this interview with Vanity Fair’s “The Scene,” Anna Kendrick, Adam Devine and Aubrey Plaza convened for a rather humorous, and profane, conversation. Don’t get us wrong here, we love salty language as much as the next person, but it doesn’t take long before things get confusing. Yes, this is a promotion for their new movie “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates.” But … is it?
Kendrick proves she can still be as charming as ever when discussing her movie prep. “I had to spend a lot of time looking at horse dicks,” the actress says. And while she goes on to discuss the various forms of sexual situations she found said horses in, one begins to wonder if all this horse genitalia talk is relevant to the “Mike and Dave” story.
It’s not like we don’t get a clearer picture of what Adam DeVine’s working with downstairs. Yet, after that visual, there’s something almost abstractly endearing about Kendrick’s acting method. Not for nothing, but we can’t help but wonder what went into her work on the “Pitch Perfect” movies!
