Ben Higgins running for office

UPDATE: Turns out Ben Higgins is not running for office anymore, which is too bad because we already had several campaign slogans locked down.

“I regret that I must withdraw my candidacy. Despite my best efforts to pursue this opportunity in good faith, I recently received information that has made such a pursuit unworkable,” says Higgins in a statement. “Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will not be able to move forward as a candidate. I find solace in knowing that our intentions and actions have been fair and sincere. I entered into this endeavor wanting to bring positive change to my community, and it is with that same spirit that I will move forward, albeit on a different path.”

Joining the list of former reality TV stars that have transitioned in politics, it was announced on Wednesday (July 20) that former “Bachelor” star Ben Higgins has officially entered the race to be in Colorado’s House District 4. The opportunity presented itself to the recently registered Republican after William “Willie” B. Pinkston happily stepped down for Higgins to take his place.

The 28-year-old software consultant will be going up against attorney Dan Pabon, the current Speaker Pro Tempore, and while this sounds like fierce competition, the incumbent Democrat was arrested this past year for a DUI on St. Patrick’s Day. After pleading guilty, he was charged with one year probation. So Pabon, the man who’s served as Colorado house speaker since January 2015, has left the door open for Higgins to wiggle is way in.

Even though Higgins has gone on the record saying he’s “definitely not a politician,” has zero experience and the 4th District is 80 percent democratic, under these rare circumstances, Higgins could actually win. He has the name recognition from being a reality TV star, which, based on Trump’s total domination, is apparently all you need to have a successful run for office as a Republican.

Zap2it couldn’t help but think: If we were Higgins’ campaign manager, what kind slogans would we create? How can Higgins lock down a landslide win? The general election will take place on Nov. 8, and we think we have the former “Bachelor” star’s campaign covered.

Here are six slogans Higgins should seriously think about using:

1. To quote of one the most famous ‘Bachelor’ lines:

2. Sticking with ‘The Bachelor’ theme is key, actually.

3. This makes about as much logical sense as most of Trump’s presidential plans. So, why not give it a go?

4. Not only does this utilize Chris Harrison’s famous words, Higgins’ campaign will be documented on his new reality show which means: Drama.

5. Last but not least, a classic no frills ‘Bachelor’ reference.
