“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” was not exactly well received by critics, though it did take home nearly $900 million at the box office, so audiences apparently liked it just fine.

In fact, it’s that dissonance between reviews and earnings that is part of the focus of Screen Junkies’ latest Honest Trailer, which is just as scathing as the reviews. It takes on the movie’s convoluted plot, the fans that were “sending out death threats” to critics and the critics who “refused to admit that anything about it was cool.”

From the DC extended universe kicking off “with a folder of lower-s Quicktime videos,” which leaves audiences with “a cool new Batman movie trapped inside a boring, convoluted Superman sequel,” to Ben Affleck shockingly being the best part of the entire movie, the Honest Trailer does not hold back.

“Watch Zack Snyder prove once and for all that the hero he really wanted to make movies about is [Batman] — or at least his weird, murdery fanfic version,” growls the voiceover. “Ben Affleck shines as Batman, who’s one part CrossFit bro, one part Superman, one part Tony Stark, one part Arkham video game and one part actual bat? … as the actor we all assumed would be the worst part of this movie is by far the best part of this movie.”

“Suit up for a film that was so highly-anticipated it could never live up to the hype,” which the trailer renames “Fans v Batman v Superman v Critics v Other Fans v Executives v Zack Snyder v Expectations: Can’t Do Them All Justice.”

“But at least ‘Suicide Squad’ looks pretty cool, though, right?”

Indeed, Screen Junkies. Indeed.
