We can’t believe “Bones” Season 11 is already drawing to a close. It looks like Thursday’s (July 21) season finale episode promises to be one for the history books.

Earlier in the season, “Bones” introduced The Puppeteer, a serial killer who turns his victims’ corpses into marionettes for him to play with for months on end. The chilling conclusion to the mystery didn’t give us much closure, since The Puppeteer is still roaming the streets, and he seems to have fixated on Brennan (Emily Deschanel).

The finale will see our team trying their hardest to figure out who this killer is, and where he will strike next, while Brennan is plagued with nightmares about The Puppeteer.

Zap2it spoke with executive producer John Collier about the upcoming finale, and what it could have in store for Brennan. As far as whether or not we should be worried for the safety of the good scientist, Collier says, “We should be worried and intrigued.”

“We’re dealing with a type of serial killer we’ve never seen before on the show,” Collier says. “It’s going to bring our characters into direct personal jeopardy, and it’s going to culminate in a twist that I feel is earned, but you never see coming and leaves room for more.”

This new twist is even more terrifying when you realize just how brilliant and manipulative our new killer is. Prepare to get lost more than once, following false leads and wrong turns as Booth (David Boreanez) hunts down this new murderer.

Let’s just hope they can find The Puppeteer and bring him to justice before he makes his move on poor Brennan.

“Bones” airs Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX.
