If it’s been a while since you’ve watched “Family Feud,” you might be surprised to see that things have come a long way since the heyday of Richard Dawson. For instance, contestants include Snoop Dogg, questions include “Name something grandma might do if she caught grandpa smoking marijuana,” and an answer on the big board reads “Beat his old arse.”
For better or worse, this is a hipper, cruder “Feud” overseen by Steve Harvey. It seems appropriate, then, that when Snoop inevitably gets a question about the topic he knows best, Harvey can’t stand still with anticipation.
Going up against boxing legend Sugar Ray Leonard in this clip from “Celebrity Family Feud” (airing Sundays at 8:00 ET/PT on ABC), Snoop buzzes in quickly — and the comedian teases Sugar Ray for his relatively slow response. But, much like in the boxing ring, Leonard is hanging back and waiting for his moment to strike.
Shockingly, Snoop’s answer (which actually begins as “Put hands on him”), is only the fourth most popular among those surveyed. Presented with the chance to steal, Leonard beats Snoop at his own game with the response “Scream at him.” Snoop can only nod his head in recognition of a job well done, even if it is safe to assume he has conducted years of research on the matter.
