As much as we may adore Logan’s (Matt Czuchry) quick wit or Dean’s (Jared Padalecki) sweet smile, there’s really no denying that a pretty huge chunk of the “Gilmore Girls” fandom is hoping the new Netflix revival will end with Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Jess (Milo Ventimiglia) riding off into the sunset together.
The other two boys are definitely major contenders, but in honor of Milo Ventimiglia’s 39th birthday, we thought we’d argue on his character’s behalf.
Jess was a troubled soul in the beginning. He deserved more than one smack across the head for the way he used to talk to Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Luke (Scott Patterson), but when it comes to Rory’s happily ever after, we hope it includes Jess.
In case you need more convincing, here are Zap2it‘s top 5 reasons these two are perfect for each other.
Their shared interests
“Opposites attract” is nice in theory, but there’s something about Rory and Jess’ shared love of books, music and culture that made them perfect for each other.
His total turn around
Jess might have started off as a bad-boy, but by the end of the series he’d become a mature, self-sufficient adult who knew how to properly express his emotions. That’s what we call progress.
He doesn’t coddle her
When everyone else in Rory’s life was treating her with kid gloves, Jess wasn’t afraid to yell and rant and rage about her dropping out of school and partying her life away.
Their warped sense of humor
The person you should end up with is the one who gets your jokes when no one else does. Even if those jokes are a little bit morbid …
All the chemistry
There’s no delicate way to put this but … just let these two get it on already! Rory and Jess had so much chemistry it was insane, but plot twists and failed spinoffs meant they never really got to explore the physical side of their relationship. And that’s a shame if we ever saw one.
