Sad news for “Married at First Sight: The First Year” stars Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner. The pair revealed in an Instagram post that they miscarried their first child.

“Our Baby Hehner was just too beautiful for earth. I love him so much – ALWAYS will – and can’t wait to meet him in heaven one day. Please pray for us,” writes Otis.

The couple, who met at the altar during the first season of “Married at First Sight” in 2014, had just announced their pregnancy publicly a week ago, though they found out Otis was pregnant with their first child back in April.

At the time, Otis wrote a blog post about how excited she was. “Anyone who has been following our journey on ‘Married At First Sight’ and ‘MAFS: The First Year’ knows how much I’ve wanted to be a mommy. It’s really been my biggest dream in life … to have a child of my very own?! To decorate a nursery, wrap Christmas presents for, and even diaper changing and every few hour feedings … ahh, I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am!”

She also posted to Instagram just three days ago that husband Doug is her rock.

“I can’t express how good it feels to have my hubby by my side. To know he is ALWAYS there for me. A partner by my side through thick and thin – That’s what I’ve been looking for my whole life,” writes Otis. “You never truly know if you have it until you go through the thick and thin. We’ve been through it all and I am so, so lucky to KNOW I have that in my sweet hubs.”

Otis and Hehner’s recent journey on “MAFS: The First Year” saw them checking things off on their “baby bucket list,” i.e. things they wanted to do before they started a family. The next season of the FYI reality show will presumably tackle the emotional struggle of their recent miscarriage.
