Fans of WGN's genre hit "Salem" were teased with a new trailer for Season 3 during this year's San Diego Comic-Con. While Marilyn Manson will be joining the cast for these new episodes, our main focus was twofold ... is Mary Sibley alive and what's the deal with the Devil? Thankfully, Zap2it got a few answers during our time in the press room for the horror series.

"The Devil has definitely come to Salem ... or as we say in the show, the Devil was born in Salem," series creator Adam Simon says. "The American Devil, that is! In some sense, that's what the show has always been about -- where the Devil and America came from."

Referencing John Milton's "Paradise Lost," it looks like Season 3 is going even darker than the previous episodes of the series. Elise Eberle, who plays Mercy Lewis, confirms this tone shift: "Basically, they are about to die and the witches are the ones who are seeing that." Stating that this new season is "all about survival," it'll be interesting to see if the witches can team up and stop the Antichrist.

Speaking of, Mary Sibley was the one who brought the beast into this world and Janet Montgomery dropped a big spoiler, telling Zap2it that Mary is not in fact dead. "I come back from the dead, spoiler alert! I get pulled back by the witches in order to defeat the Devil but I am tied to Satan."

With the team teasing crazy twists and turns, it's hard to predict just where the new episodes are going. Shane West (John Alden) says, "It's one giant explosion that's going to end in ways that you're not going to expect." Or to make things more relevant, perhaps Simon put it best when he said, "We're going to make America hate again."

Season 3 of "Salem" premieres Halloween week on WGN America.
