Snoop Dogg, the rap star and marijuana advocate, will headline a “unity party” on the final night of the Democratic National Convention.
Priorities USA, a pro-Clinton Super PAC, announced the concert in conjunction with the House Majority PAC and the Senate Majority PAC.
Snoop Dogg was among Hillary Clinton’s earliest supporters in the entertainment world, giving his endorsement in May 2015 in an appearance on Bravo.
“But I’ll say that I would love to see a woman in office because I feel like we’re at that stage in life to where we need a perspective other than the male’s train of thought,” he said. “And just to have a woman speaking from a global perspective as far as representing America, I’d love to see that. So I’ll be voting Mrs. Clinton.”
In 2012, Snoop Dogg posted an image of Ron Paul on Facebook with the words “Smoke weed every day,” which some took as an endorsement. He later endorsed President Barack Obama.
Snoop Dogg will headline the event at the Electric Factory in Philadelphia on July 28. Priorities USA also announced that Los Lobos would perform at another event earlier in the week.
