After announcing that “The Late Show” will go live for the next two weeks, for both Republican and Democratic National Conventions, Stephen Colbert has raised more than a few eyebrows. There’s the detail that Jon Stewart will be joining him in some capacity when his show airs on Monday (July 18). As well, there’s a possibility that his old “Colbert Report” persona will come out to play.

Doing his best to command some early bits of attention before the RNC fully kicks off, Colbert went rogue on Sunday and took the podium as his Caesar Flickman-inspired character, ala “The Hunger Games.” Jezebel is reporting on the instance which has Colbert throwing a few jabs at both Donald Trump and VP nominee, Mike Pence. The mere mention of Pence caused Colbert to fall into a brief nap.

When he lifted his head, Colbert is heard saying, “Sorry, I blacked out there for a moment” only to officially declare: “it is my honor to hereby launch and begin the 2016 Republican National Hungry for Power Games!”

As soon as those words are uttered, Colbert is seen being guided off-stage where he is heard saying, “Look, I know I’m not supposed to be up here, but to be honest … neither is Donald Trump.”
