Any time all the eight of “The Real Housewives of New York City” are in one room, viewers know something
amazing awful is going to happen. Fast forward through the first 55 minutes of Wednesday night’s (July 6) episode and get ready for the pandemonium to begin.
Once all the ladies of the Big Apple are settled into what looks a like a very chic fine dining establishment — as per usual with “Housewives” dinner scenarios — it’s the person who talks the loudest that gets the floor. The overlapping screeching voices make it sound like theres a herd of hyenas at the private garden table. Bethenny’s in a spat with Carole, Jules explains her vagina injury and Ramona is … being Ramona.
However, one woman was able to hush the entire table with one sentence. Interrupting Luann’s nonstop gushing over her new lover Tom, Miss Sonja Morgan casually says, “Oh yeah. Tom? We were friends with benefits for over 10 years.”
Now, audiences already know that Tom previously dated Ramona. We also knew Tom had hooked up with Sonja. But … a 10 year fling? No one knew that detail!
But Sonja’s Tom bomb hits Luann like a ton of bricks. She was clearly not privy to this information. The man with whom Luann has fallen deeply in love with — and for whom she has such a deep connection with — never thought to bring up that he’s tapped a few of her friends? That does sound pretty sketchy, Luann. Luann goes on the defense. But these women are not opposed to her happiness and they aren’t being mean. No, the housewives are simply trying to bring The Countess back down to Earth.
But Luann doesn’t want to hear it. She lives in Luann World … and in Luann’s World, she is getting married no matter what. She’s going to get that “Real Housewives” wedding special if that’s the last thing she does. It’s probable she just won’t invite Sonja to the wedding. Or maybe she will. Nothing Luann does ever makes sense.
“The Real Housewives of New York City” airs Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
