After a bit of excitement the last couple weeks, the "Big Brother 18" house has once again turned both completely boring and a little scandalous (though not in a good way). Read on to find out why, but be warned of spoilers from the live feeds.

The showmances

As a reminder, Natalie and Michelle are the co-Heads of Household this week and Victor and Corey are on the block. The Power of Veto is over, so this is how the noms will remain this week.

So, Natalie/James have decided their best bet to get to the end are to align with Nicole/Corey in a final four deal. It's not the worst idea in the world for their game, but it's the worst thing for the viewers.

First of all, they'll just pick off the other side one by one and the game play will be totally boring because once Victor is gone they have a huge numbers advantage. The only way to save this if Paul wins the next HOH -- because Michelle can't play this week and even if she could, Natalie has put a bug in her ear about targeting Paul and Michelle hasn't realized that leaves her as a fifth wheel in the showmance alliance.

Second of all, the four showmances are four of the most boring people in the house. Now that they feel safe, they barely get out of bed every day. Nobody wants to watch that.

The scandal

A big "third of all" is that James and Nicole got caught this week promising each other money if they win. They were saying that whoever out of their final four wins is going to give $10,000 each to the other three, which is a huge violation of "Big Brother" rules.

According to the legal contract the "BB" contestants sign, which Reality Blurred posted online a few years ago, the contestants agree, "I am aware that it is a federal offense punishable by fine and/or imprisonment for me or anyone to do anything that would rig or in any way influence the outcome of the Series with intent to deceive the viewing public (including, without limitation, colluding to share any prizes, stipends or other monies)."

After James and Nicole got called to the Diary Room for this collusion, they had to then state on camera on the live feeds that they weren't promising each other things in exchange for a vote to win -- though they actually were saying "gifts," acting like they were more innocent than they actually were.

The thing is -- even if they make these statements on the live feeds, you can't put the horse back in the barn. The agreement is out there now and it'll always be on their minds that they have something monetary to gain by voting for their alliance to win, which is grossly unfair.

Vanessa tried this tactic in Season 17 and she was similarly reprimanded, but we think there should be more serious repercussions when something like this happens. Maybe James and Nicole aren't allowed to compete in the next HOH comp, or the next time either of them is on the block, they receive a penalty vote. Something to make this more serious and therefore hopefully prevent it from happening in the first place.

The savior

The only thing that is going to save this season from being completely awful down the stretch is if a jury member returns who is strong enough to play the game but won't align with the showmances -- Victor (since he's leaving Thursday), Da'Vonne or maybe even Bridgette. It'll still be an uphill battle, but the returning juror could work with Michelle and Paul against the showmances and possibly have a chance to keep things exciting.

If Paulie returns .. well, that may be enough to get James/Natalie to work with Paul and Michelle against the blonde three-headed monster on the other side of the house. But maybe not and Paulie's so gross that we don't really want to take that chance.
