The next “Big Brother 18” care package is huge — arguably the greatest power of any of them, save maybe nullifying two eviction votes. Voting is open until Friday, Aug. 19 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT and here’s why Zap2it thinks everyone should be throwing their support behind Corey.

Nobody wants a boring season of “Big Brother,” right?

This is one way to guarantee that the next week is at least semi-interesting to watch. Look, Zap2it is not a huge supporter of the Paulie/Corey/Nicole alliance, but we are also not in favor of one alliance running the show, even if it’s an alliance we like.

“Big Brother” is at its best when there are two warring factions, the power goes back and forth and there’s lots of tension and drama. If the James/Natalie/Paul/Victor/Michelle group picks off Corey and Nicole in each subsequent week (after sending Paulie out Thursday), that will be SO boring.

However, if Corey wins the care package, he gets to be co-HOH and choose one of the nominees. He is also safe from being nominated, since the package says the recipient gets "all the perks and responsibilities" of being HOH. So even if Nicole is the HOH winner's nominee, Corey can put up someone next to her -- like James -- and then at least we've got a ball game.

Things get even more interesting if Nicole can win POV, because in this scenario then both she and Corey are safe and the other side of the house will be forced to turn on each other. How fun would that be to watch?

On the other hand, if Corey doesn't win the care package, since Nicole is ineligible, then their only hope of surviving the week is to win HOH and then win POV. Because if Corey or Nicole is HOH, the other one will most likely be nominated by the care package recipient. So one of the two of them would have to win POV to take down whoever is nominated.

That's a tall order. It's not impossible, but it's not going to be easy. However, if they don't win HOH or the care package, they're pretty much toast. One will go home this week and then most likely the other will go home the week after that.

Of course, there's also the fly in the ointment of a juror possibly returning on Friday's special episode. Either way, the week following Thursday's show should be pretty fun to watch -- especially if Corey has the care package power.
