In a new, interactive movement to celebrate the home entertainment release of “Game of Thrones” Season 6, HBO has created The GoT Party to let fans pledge support to their favorite Westerosi candidates for the Iron Throne.
Candidates include all the likely suspects, including Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) and her running mate Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) and his running mate Lyanna Mormont (Bella Ramsey), Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) and her running mate Qyburn (Anton Lesser) and also Petyr Baelish (Aidan Gillen) and his running mate Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner).
We happen to notice, however, that the race that would most accurately reflect the current Presidential bloodbath is not on the list. You’d have to be blind not to see that Clinton is the Daenerys to Joffrey’s Trump.
We suppose the fact that Joffrey is dead disqualifies him from the current Iron Throne race, which we think is a little unfair. Trump comes off as completely dead inside and that didn’t disqualify him. Nevertheless, we’re here to help point out the parallels between the candidates.
He’s a bully to people he doesn’t like
His wife is out of his league
He’s oddly naive about how politics work
He doesn’t exactly treat women very well
He tends to let power go to his head
On the other hand, Hillary has quite a bit in common with Daenerys Targaryen, and we’re not just talking about the gorgeous silver-blonde hair.
She’s got a fan-favorite backing her every move
She’s got a bit of a scandalous political background
She’s looking out for the underdog
Women everywhere love her
She gets accused of yelling a lot
No matter who you’re voting for in November for President — or in August for the Iron Throne — we urge you to consider your vote carefully. After all, in the Game of
Presidents Thrones, you win or you die.
