The Season 1 finale of HBO’s “The Night Of” still has everyone talking. And while the killer’s true identity was revealed, another surprise was presented in an unexpected cameo. While there’s no mention of him on the show’s IMDB page, a little research proved we are correct in our assessment that Gordon (Roscoe Orman) from “Sesame Street” was the jury foreman that set Naz free.
Recently, the long-running children’s show made headlines when it was announced that Bob McGrath, Emilio Delgado and Orman were not returning in the same capacity they held before the show moved to HBO. While Sesame Workshop’s CEO Jeff Dunn has stated that each actor will be involved with future episodes in some capacity, it looks like their schedules have been freed up to pursue other ventures.
That being said, it’s sometimes difficult to remind ourselves that the men and women of “Sesame Street” are real actors who also seek work outside of the series. While Ormon has played Gordon on the show since 1974, he has also appeared in grittier programs like “Law & Order: SVU” and “The Wire.” Needless to say, some “The Night Of” fans were as surprised as we were to see his familiar face.
