Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard, whose courtship was featured on the just-aired eighth season of “19 Kids and Counting,” were married Saturday (June 21) in Springdale, Ark. in front of more than 1000 guests, reports People.
Jill, the fourth of 19 children for Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, shared her very first kiss with Derick after their vows. The two met online and then met in Nepal earlier this year, where Derick was doing missionary work, and began courting.
Five of Jill’s sisters were bridesmaids, two brothers were groomsmen, five brothers were ushers, and the remaining brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews served as ring bearers and flower girls.
Father Jim Bob tells People, “It really hit me that Jill was leaving as she was packing her bag the other night. We all realized she was really leaving. We are so glad that Derick is an answer to her prayers. It’s an emotional time, but a joyful time.”
“19 Kids and Counting” has not officially been renewed for a ninth season, but we would say the safe money is on another season, which should feature Jill and Derick’s wedding and the continuation of Jessa’s courtship with Ben Seeward.
