There’s no party up in here. Earl Simmons aka DMX was arrested in Greer, S.C. at 1 a.m. Wednesday. Police say the “Blame It on the Hustle” star was driving without a license.
The Associated Press reports DMX already faces multiple charges of driving without a license. A cop watched him leave a gas station, enter a vehicle and drive away then proceeded to pull him over. He was later released after paying a fine.
DMX sued police in Phoenix, Ariz. after being arrested in 2011 for driving 102 mph in a 65 mph zone. He was charged with reckless driving and driving with a suspended license. The rapper claimed at the time he was only going 85 mph.
Between 1998 and the present, Simmons has faced legal issues ranging from stabbing and rape charges — of which he was cleared — to drug and weapon possession and probation violation.
In 2012 the rapper released “Undisputed” after a six-year hiatus from music. He also appeared on VH-1’s “Couples Therapy.” He has a small role announced in 2014’s “The Expendables 3.”
