It’s not often that a sexagenarian gets a hit song and music video made about him by two of America’s hottest artists. But then again, when that 68-year-old is Mick Jagger, all bets are off.
Maroon 5, singing alongside Christina Aguilera, released the video of their hit song “Moves Like Jagger” Monday (Aug. 8).
The video of the upbeat pop tune features Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine half-naked and his co-worker from “The Voice,” Aguilera, intercut with shots of countless pouty-lipped women strutting like the Rolling Stones front man. The video also offers vintage footage of Jagger, proving only one person really knows how to move like Jagger.
The song debuted on Billboard Hot 100 at No. 8 in late June. After sliding down the Billboard charts, “Moves Like Jagger” shot to the top of iTunes after Friday’s (Aug. 5) performance on “Today.”
This is Maroon 5’s first Top 10 single since they released “Makes Me Wonder” in 2007. It’s also Aguilera’s first Top 10 hit since the 2008 song “Keeps Gettin’ Better.”
