Forget “Dancing with the Stars.” Those are D listers, reality stars and has- beens. Adam Shankman — Oscar-winning choreographer, TV and film director and “So You Think You Can Dance” judge — has a better idea.
He rocked the podium at Monday’s (Oct 18) Elle’s 17th annual Women in Hollywood Awards, honoring Jodie Foster, Diane Keaton, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Chastain, Diane Kruger, Kerry Washington, Hilary Swank, Kate Hudson and Sofia Coppola.
In his intro, Adam presented a spin-off called “So You Think You Can Act Like You Can Dance” featuring video clips of the lauded A-list actresses’ dancing sequences in past films, rating them like he does on SYTYCD. They were all high-larious but Jodie’s probably got the most laughs.
Adam kinda warned us about this before the show: “Let’s put this way. Everything I say tonight is with a great deal of love and I’m not skewing anyone and it’s heavy on comedy.”
The Dish Rag also got some dish about his directing the “Rocky Horror Picture Show” episode of “Glee” and an upcoming “Modern Family” episode.
Michele said the sweetest thing: “Having you here feels like home’
because I’m a musical guy.
On who plays Rocky:
“Oh, I don’t want to spoil the surprise.”
C’mon, give us a hint: “It’s not who you’d cast.”
So now we’re thinking maybe Jane Lynch in the role made famous by Tim Curry.
On who has the most fun in the episode:
“It’s a great show for Jayma Mays and for Janey Lynch. Jane has a lot of really good funny and Jama has some sexy.”
Hmmm. Since Jayma submitted a RHPS ditty, “Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch-a, Touch Me” as her ‘Glee” audition tape, is that the sexy she’ll bring? We can’t wait to do the Time Warp again…
Finally, On one hint from his “Modern Family” episode:
“You can expect Mitchell to get the surprise of his life.”
Oh NO! What could it be?
