According to a report from Deadline.com, the network has now increased security at its New York headquarters. The threats seem to have originated from supporters of Robertson, the patriarch of the immensely popular series.
Robertson’s suspension came after the reality star made statements during a GQ magazine interview indicating intolerance toward homosexuals. In response to Phil’s suspension, the rest of the Robertson family released a statement on Thursday (Dec. 19) saying that they did not want to continue “Duck Dynasty” without their patriarch.
Reportedly, no meetings have been scheduled between A&E and the Louisiana family at the center of the network’s biggest hit. Amidst Phil’s imposed hiatus, nine of the upcoming season’s 10 episodes are already in the can.
A&E has not issued a statement with regard to the threats at this time.
