Aerosmith gave America a taste of its new album when the band debuted new single “Legendary Child” on the “American Idol” finale in May, but the band began rolling out its new material in concert on the opening date of the Global Warming Tour in Minneapolis, Minn. on Saturday, June 16.
According to Rolling Stone, Steven Tyler, Joe Perry and co. played new song “Oh Yeah” live for the first time. Both new tunes come from the band’s 15th studio album, “Music From Another Dimension,” which will hit stores in August.
“You reminded us tonight what we got into this business for,” Tyler said at one point during the night. “You!”
Aerosmith played for more than an hour and a half for the 14,000 fans in attendance. The set also included classics like “Cryin’,” “Sweet Emotion,” “Walk This Way” and “Dream On.”
The Global Warming Tour continues June 19 in Cleveland, Ohio.
