After the departure of Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini, CBS’s daytime chatfest “The Talk” needed a little spicing up. That’s why the news that all-around funnylady Aisha Tyler is joining comedian Sheryl Underwood and original members Sara Gilbert, Julie Chen and Sharon Osbourne is great for the show.
Why, you ask? Let us outline a few reasons below:
- First things first, considering Osbourne is taking on a reduced role this season to spend time with her family, it helps to have another outspoken woman on the panel. Tyler is definitely not shy about sharing her opinions.
- Tyler has experience as a host, having headed up E!’s “Talk Soup” from 2001-02, and brings an edgy wit to her role as Lana Kane on FX’s animated hit, “Archer.”
- Did we mention she’s funny? Because she’s really, really funny.
- Plus, she’ll be great when discussing current events — Tyler has a degree in political science from Dartmouth College. Hilarious, and an Ivy Leaguer to boot? What else could you ask for in a panelist?
