The brand new trailer for “The Bling Ring” isn’t sitting well with real-life Bling Ring suspect and former E! reality star, Alexis Neiers. When a Los Angeles Times journalist Amy Kaufman tweeted Neiers asking what she thinks of the trailer, Neiers responded:
“It’s trashy and inaccurate. Based on Detective Goodkin and Nancy Joe Sales inaccurate information. 2 people who are everything they accused us of being. Celebrity status obsessed, fame & money hungry…“The detective who has been caught in multiple lies and who played himself in this film and a woman who is an irresponsible, inaccurate and a dishonest journalist who is currently writing a book based on inaccurate facts. The truth will come out soon enough and I have no intention of seeing this film.”
Emma Watson, who portrays Nicki — a character based on Neiers — in the film, has described her as, “superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral.” Watson told British GQ, “She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her.”
After her Twitter rant, Neiers retweeted Watson’s tweet that reads, “I don’t really ‘star’ in the Bling Ring. I am probably 3rd/4th of the lead characters. (In case media/marketing is a bit misleading.)”
Neiers and and a group of her friends, then teenagers, were accused of stealing around $3 million in cash and property from young Hollywood celebrities like Paris Hilton, Orlando Bloom and Lindsay Lohan. As part of a felony plea deal, Neiers was sentenced to 180 days in jail. She served 30 days, partially alongside Lohan.
Neiers previously starred in “Pretty Wild” on E!, which followed the exploits of Alexis, her mom Tess Taylor, and her sister Gabby Neiers.
