Without Twitter, how would you know who is in any movie? After Bryan Singer has revealed most of “X-Men: Days of Future Past” casting through his profile, director Marc Webb is joining the party. Webb is currently in production on “Amazing Spider-Man 2,” and has been tweeting photos from the set.
While most of the photos have focused more on smaller characters, crew members, and set pieces, a tweet sent out Thursday gave away a some actual casting news. The tweet reads, “Day 38. A supposed rumor about a Dunder-Mifflin takeover of Oscorp?” and includes a photo of “The Office” star B.J. Novak in character.
No word on which character Novak plays, but the chances of him being an Oscorp employee are high. The last couple weeks of filming have been done inside the Oscorp headquarters, based on other photos Webb has posted.
Novak joins Chris Cooper as Norman Osborn and Shailene Woodley as Mary Jane Watson in the movie. Stars from the original, including Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker/Spider-Man) and Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy), will be returning. Paul Giamatti was reportedly negotiating to play The Rhino in the film, but no confirmation of the casting has been made.
“Amazing Spider-Man 2” arrives in theaters May 2, 2014.
