Sometimes the social media age that we live in manages to surprise us in a good way. Such is the case of a recent exchange that will perhaps bring the inimitable Neil Patrick Harris to “American Horror Story: Freak Show.”
In a recent interview, NPH tells EW that growing up, he was always obsessed with carnival side show type things. “I love crazy, random freak show stuff,” says Harris.
Interviewer Mario Correa then says that he must be excited about the upcoming fourth season of “American Horror Story,” to which NPH replies, “Oh my gosh, ‘American Horror Story’! I wrote a letter to [creator Ryan Murphy] asking if I could be in it, even though I wasn’t even available to be in it. He hasn’t responded. … I just love those series. ‘Coven’ was fantastic. To do one that involves any kind of freak, circus nonsense is going to be so unsettling to watch, can’t wait.”
But now Ryan Murphy has responded. He writes on Twitter, “@ActuallyNPH of course you can be on Freak Show! I have a role I think you’d love.”
Yes! We love NPH and we love AHS, and they sound like two great tastes that would taste great together. We have our fingers crossed this actually comes to fruition. What do you think the role is?! How amazing would NPH be as some kind of deranged carnival barker?
“American Horror Story: Freak Show” premieres fall 2014 on FX.
