In keeping with the “songs from the year the contestants were born” theme, Naima Adedapo took the “American Idol” stage Wednesday (March 16) evening and totally slayed Tina Turner’s “What’s Love Got to Do with It” (1984, by the way). And we don’t mean “slay” in the sense that judge Randy Jackson usually uses the term.
As Randy himself said, “The vocals were a mess.” A tough call for one of Jackson’s favorites. Jennifer Lopez (herself sporting a fabulously massive mane that had us wondering how Randy and Steven managed to fit at the judges’ table) seconded the emotion, getting booed for calling Naima on yet another pitchy performance.
“I’m gonna get my pitch together,” said Naimi backstage after the performance. “That’s all I can do.”
What did you think of Naima top 12 performance?
