“American Idol’s” “Hollywood Week” kicked off Monday, Dec. 6 with more than 200 hopefuls (more than any other season) arriving in L.A. after auditioning in their hometowns. Too Fab has all the details regarding Season 10’s two-week process to make it to the big show.
The contestants attended an almost two hour-long orientation session on Monday at a Pasadena hotel and they will spend the next week competing to move onto the next round. The hopefuls (who will perform solos as well as in groups) were given a list of songs they could sing during the process, which included approved tracks from The Jackson 5 and The Black Eyes Peas.
Because of the increased amount of contestants (thanks to the age limit being lowered to 15) the show has booked two hotels to house them all. A source also adds that space is so tight some contestants are practicing in the parking garage.
While the hopefuls were in orientation, Ryan Seacrest met with the show’s judges, Jennifer
Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy
Jackson, to go over the “Hollywood Week” schedule. Seacrest tweeted, “In a meeting with idol judges now…we shoot hollywood week this week so we are going thru the plan now.” He later added, “2morrow’s a full day: radio show then, we start seeing the contestants
that made it 2 hwood for idol. Its the largest group we have ever had.”
