The “American Idol” Top 6 tackled country and rock and roll songs — to varying degrees of success. But while four of the singers flew through to the Top 5, C.J. Harris and Jessica Meuse landed on the bottom. So who went home, C.J. or Jessica? Read on to find out.
The usual pre-show introduction was different this week because Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. spiffed up in some suits, and instead of the typical post-show wrap-up at a random restaurant or sitting awkwardly by their hotel pool, the Idols gathered in a hotel room kitchen while Caleb’s mom cooked her son and his competitors (slash friends?) a birthday feast.
Top 6 night’s Ford non-music video involved the kids driving around Los Angeles while their parents said embarrassing things about them — and then everyone made fun of Jessica for having naturally blonde hair? As always, it was kind of confusing.
After a typically useless Randy Jackson rundown, Ryan Seacrest read the first results. Sam and Caleb were safe, while C.J. was sent to the stools. In the second group, Jena and Alex were safe, while Jessica landed on the bottom again.
Ultimately, it was C.J. who received the least number of votes and was sent packing.
