Anderson Cooper suffered an accident on a “60 Minutes” shoot in Portugal, causing the newsman to go blind for 36 hours.
Cooper tweeted a photo of himself with a gauze eye patch over his right eye. He wrote, “Temporarily blinded last week while on assignment. UV light bouncing off water.”
People reports Anderson explained the injury on “Anderson Cooper Live.”
“I wake up in the middle of the night and it feels like my eyes are on fire,” says Cooper. “It turns out I have sunburned my eyeballs and I go blind. I went blind for 36 hours. I took this picture of me after I went to the hospital.”
Anderson told the audience jokingly, “That’s my new Match.com profile picture, by the way.”
