If you’ve been waiting for your chance to date “Pitch Perfect” star Anna Kendrick, she’s got some pointers that might help you in achieving that goal. In the latest issue of GQ, Kendrick gives some dos and don’ts, while also talking about drinking on the first date and shopping for underwear.
Though Anna was in a long-term relationship with British director Edgar Wright. That means she’s back on the market, gentlemen. If you think you’ve got what it takes to land someone like her, there’s a couple things you’ll want to steer clear of. “Two subjects never to bring up on a first date are anything to do with the actual reality of your family and, you know, liver cancer and how we’ve all probably got it,” she says.
She also tackles the age old quandary of whether to pay on the first date. “Even though it’s meaningless,” she explains, “If the guy doesn’t, or doesn’t offer, it suggest poor judgement more than anything else.”
As for locations, Anna seems to be pretty flexible, even fondly recalling a guy who took her to a Del Taco drive-through. “If you can make Del Taco romantic, then you’ve got a good thing going.” If all else fails, break out the liquor. “If sex is off the table, and you’re like ‘Let’s try to get to know each other’, I would recommend drinking highly,” says Kendrick, a fan of Belgian beers.
It’s not all dating advice from Anna, though. She also talks about the most bizarre place fans have asked her for an autograph: while underwear shopping. “There’s something deeply embarrassing about being approached when you’re holding knickers. And it’s happened TWICE!” Knickers? Sounds like dating Wright rubbed off on her.
