Anne Hathaway is reuniting with “The Dark Knight Rises” director Christopher Nolan for his mysterious new sci-fi project, “Interstellar,” which already has Matthew McConaughey locked in as its male lead.
Based on an original screenplay by Nolan’s brother Jonathan Nolan (who worked on the Batman films and executive produces CBS’ “Person of Interest”), “Interstellar” is said to involve time travel, an interstellar voyage and the scientific theories of Caltech physicist Kip Thorne.
Deadline reports that Hathaway’s deal is almost done, but no details on her role or character in the film are available. “Interstellar” is already scheduled for release in both traditional and IMAX theaters on Nov. 7, 2014.
Hathaway co-starred as Catwoman in “Dark Knight Rises,” last year’s blockbuster finale to Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Since winning this year’s Best Supporting Actress Oscar for musical hit “Les Miserables,” Hathaway also attached herself to the dramedy “Laggies” directed by Lynn Shelton (“New Girl”) and co-starring Sam Rockwell and Chloe Moretz.
