The back-and-forth allegations involving “Modern Family” star Ariel Winter and her mother show no sign of subsiding, but the teenage actress is getting support from her on-screen family and at least one fellow child star.
Sterling Beaumon, a friend of Winter’s — they met while filming a commercial a few years ago — says he’s happy that Winter, 14, is now living with her sister, Shanelle Gray. Winter moved in with Gray after allegations that their mother, Chrisoula Workman, abused Ariel both physically and emotionally.
“Everything is good with her,” Beaumon (young Ben on “Lost”) tells TMZ. “She’s in a much better situation now.” He also says he believes Winter is telling the truth about the allegations: “I can say she’s not lying … there’s no reason for her to lie about something like this.”
The cast of “Modern Family” is also standing with Winter. A source on the set tells Fox News that there have been “minor issues” with Workman in the past.
“There is concern over the impact this will have on Ariel, and it is a very close-knit cast, so right now they are all rallying around her and making sure she is OK,” the source says. “Nobody had any idea it would really go this far.”
Winter continues to work on “Modern Family” and also stars in the Disney Channel’s upcoming animated series “Sofia the First.”
